These are step by step instructions for how to install a Hunter 2x Series Ceiling Fan. 2x series means any Hunter ceiling fan which the model starts with a 2. Step 1 – Make sure you have the right tools
Before you get started, you’ll need the following tools.
- Electric Drill with 9/64″ bit
- Standard screwdriver
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Wrench or pliers
Step two – Prepare the Hunter fan and install area for installation
Preparing the area where you want to install the ceiling fan is important. You need to pick a good spot. Finding a good place for the ceiling fan to mount is critical to smooth operation of the fan. It also impacts the efficiency of the fan, and thus, the energy savings you may experience as a home owner. If the fan is mounted in a poor location and is constantly wobbling, for instance,
2) Unpack parts
- Be careful when unpacking, in order to avoid damage to parts.
- Check for shipping damage
- Check blades carefully
- If any blades damaged, return product to store
3) Choose installation mode
Flush mount fits low to ceiling
Standard mount – hangs from the ceiling by a connector pipe. for ceilings 8 feet and higher
Angle mount – hangs from vaulted or angled ceiling
4) Install ceiling plate
5) Assemble pipe/ball assembly
6) Assemble the fan
7) Hang the fan
8) Install the remote
9) Wire up the fan
10) Attach the canopy
11) Assemble the fan blades
12) Attach switch housing
13) Install the light fixture
14) Operation!
